The Police in Rivers State have commenced an investigation into claims that a popular Nigerian artist, Teniola Akpata, better known as Teni, allegedly escaped a mob attack while performing at an event in Buguma Town, Asari-Toru Local Government Area of Rivers State.
The acting spokesperson of the state police command, Grace Iringe-Koko confirmed the incident but said Teni was rescued by security operatives unhurt.
Iringe-Koko said the police has lunged full investigation into the incident in a move to apprehend the perpetrators of the act.
Teni was reportedly invited to perform at a carnival, which was going on peacefully before the unfortunate incident.
