The Federal Government says it has closed the four million metric tons maize supply gap in Nigeria through the local production of the commodity.
It announced this through the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development at an event on the importance of vitamin A maize, in Abuja.
The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development’s Maize Value Chain Coordinator, Adeleke Mufutau, told journalists that maize was no longer in short supply in Nigeria as Nigerian farmers have closed the difference of 4 million metric tonnes between supply and demand
